Platform escapements
I get many customers contacting me asking me if I can repair a platform escapement on their clock and while I am happy to repair these for customers please be aware the time it takes to complete this task. A platform escapement can take me between one and three days to repair, this doesn't include any running/timing of the clock in the back ground to check for time. The cost to repair a platform escapement generally exceeds the cost of a new platform and in a large amount of cases exceeds the initial value of the clock.
I do hope this makes sense, if you have any further queries or are still happy to go ahead with platform escapement repairs then please get in touch.
